The Starlim Sterner plant produces silicon injected molded pieces for the healthcare industry, electronics, sanitation and consumers alike. This project was designed using cast in place concrete for the main floor slabs and basement structure and structural steel and precast planks above grade.
This design required that a water storage reservoir be located two stories below grade. The reservoir was designed to store process water used to cool the injection molds during the manufacturing process. A 1500mm deep raft slab was designed to anchor the reservoir and upper two floors to resist the hydrostatic pressures due to ground water
