Spencer Engineering Building, Western University
This project involves the addition to the UWO Spencer Engineering Building. This building is targeted to be certified LEED silver with a projected point value of 45 at this time. This project is the first building on the UWO campus to be designed and certified LEED.
The building is approximately 45,000 square feet in size. It will house a four storey atrium, student lounge area and labs for the students for the various clubs which include the Sunstang, the WETT concrete toboggan, etc. The upper floor of the building will be devoted to teaching and research laboratories. The project included a link that connects the new facility to the pre-existing Thompson Engineering Building.
