The Activity Trillium Additions and Alterations at Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario, is a central part of the campus-wide modernization and adaptive reuse initiative. Completed in 2020, this project reimagined the Trillium / Activity Building, transforming existing spaces into vibrant, flexible areas for therapy, programming, and patient engagement.

Designed by Cornerstone Architecture and built by VanDel Construction, the work combined strategic additions, interior reconfigurations, and accessibility upgrades, all while preserving the heritage character of the campus.

Adaptive reuse principles guided the design, allowing the building to meet contemporary mental health and supportive care standards without losing its historical essence. Natural light, improved circulation, and adaptable activity areas enhance the experience for patients and staff alike.

As part of the larger Homewood Health redevelopment, the Trillium project integrates seamlessly with clinical, residential, and administrative upgrades, demonstrating how thoughtful reuse and modernization can create a functional, welcoming, and sustainable healthcare environment.
