Brian van Bussel is a Partner at VanBoxmeer & Stranges Engineering Ltd., where he leads the firm’s Toronto office. With nearly 27 years of structural design experience, he has deep expertise in multi-unit residential, healthcare, and mixed-use buildings. His portfolio spans a wide range of building types and materials—including concrete, steel, mass timber, and masonry—anchored by a sharp eye for efficiency and constructability.

A graduate of both Western University and Cornell University, Brian pairs a strong academic foundation with hands-on, on-site experience. He began his career at VB&S, then spent over a decade with leading firms in Toronto before returning to launch and lead the firm’s Toronto office. His approach blends technical precision with a practical understanding of the regional construction landscape.
