Al teamed up with VanBoxmeer & Stranges Engineering Ltd. in 2001. He has operated his own engineering firm since 1986, while working in the precast concrete industry on international projects. He worked on various hospitals, schools, stadiums and courthouses.

In 2001, ACA Engineering Services and VanBoxmeer & Stranges Ltd. created a joint venture engineering team to assist clients with projects in the Niagara Region. Since then, the firms were rebranded as VanBoxmeer Stranges Antonio Structural Engineers.

Al is the main contract administrator in the VBSA Niagara office. He meets with local architects and owners and has a keen eye for detail. Al also assists with design, drawings and specifications for some VBSA projects. The firm’s clear drawing details are a reflection of Al’s thoroughness upon his review.

 

Al’s building inspections are second-to-none and his reports clearly identify the progress of projects. He is always looking to assist contractors while on-site. Having worked in the industry since 1984, Al’s extensive wealth of knowledge has been used by the firm for many years.

 

As his retirement years approach, Al’s greatest pride is still driving by a site and recalling the efforts made to complete a successful project. When not working in the office, Al enjoys playing golf and hockey or going on motorcycle trips.
