Niagara Speedway is Canada’s first—and North America’s largest—elevated go-kart track, uniquely perched above Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls. Spanning over four acres, the adrenaline-pumping circuit stretches 2,000 feet and features hairpin turns, two four-story spirals, and a roller coaster-style ramp soaring up to 40 feet, delivering a thrilling “karting meets coaster” experience.
Riders can choose from single or tandem karts powered by 9 HP Honda engines, reaching speeds of up to 32 km/h. With up to 36 karts racing simultaneously, each multi-lap session lasts about five minutes of high-energy fun. The track emphasizes safety through reinforced steel structures, guardrails, and height requirements.
Since opening in 2018, Niagara Speedway has been celebrated for its exhilarating elevation changes and family friendly excitement. Conveniently located at 4960 Clifton Hill—the heart of Niagara’s “Street of Fun”—it’s a must-visit attraction for thrill-seekers and families alike.
The Niagara Speedway features a unique elevated concrete and steel go-kart track that rises up to 40 feet above grade, blending structural complexity with amusement park excitement. The design includes two four-storey spirals and roller coaster-style ramps, supported by a carefully coordinated system of structural steel framing, reinforced concrete decking, and lateral bracing to manage dynamic loads and vibration. Built on a compact urban site with heavy pedestrian traffic below, the structure required precise engineering to ensure safety, performance, and minimal disruption. Robust detailing, integrated drainage, and corrosion-resistant materials ensure long term durability in this high-use, outdoor environment.
